But she allegedly developed double vision, started slurring her words and lost consciousness.

Cosby complainant Andrea Constand, seen in 2017, will testify on Friday. "He was a married man".

Bill Cosby paid almost $3.4 million to the woman he is charged with sexually assaulting, a prosecutor revealed to jurors Monday, answering one of the biggest questions surrounding the case as the comedian's retrial got underway. It's the second time within the year that Constand, one of nearly 60 women accusing Cosby of sexual misconduct, has been able to confront the 80-year-old comedian since the first trial ended in a hung jury last June.

"It was a very, very short visit and I wanted to get some information, which he would not volunteer to me", she said.

Six feet tall, wiry and with a mane of curly hair, Constand spoke stiffly at first but warmed considerably when asked about her interests, in the fields of natural medicine and homeopathy.

"I couldn't say anything", the former Temple University employee told the jury, according to CNN. But Mesereau's punishing portrayal represented a new level of intensity in the defense attempt to disparage Cosby's accuser, painting a far darker image of her than the one laid out by Cosby's defense team in the first trial.

Rochelle has been warned by authorities stay away from the courthouse, and she has said she will comply.

One night in January 2004, she testified she had resolved to quit her job at Temple to pursue massage therapy.

Cosby has denied all allegations against him and has said that his relationship with Constand was consensual. But when things don't work out, Mesereau said, "they're angry". She testified that Cosby gave her the wine as they rehearsed a scene in which she portrayed a drunken woman.

But she also claimed her stomach was empty when she accepted the pills from Cosby, despite having originally said the assault had occurred after a heavy dinner of Chinese food with him and others. The next thing she remembers is coming to, feeling Cosby behind her, and his fingers inside her vagina.

First trial: "I felt really humiliated".

However, it failed to elaborate further on that, or give any details as to what staffing changes could be on the way. Volkswagen is considering a surprise management shakeup that could include replacing CEO Matthias Mueller .

Constand said she made a decision to go to police in January 2005, about a year after the encounter, jarred to action by a nightmare and an increasing awareness of consent issues from her ongoing massage therapy training. "I was limp and I could not fight him off", she said. "It's called prosecution by distraction", he said.

"Did you ever ask where she was?"

Cosby lawyer Tom Mesereau is going through a thick binder of police statements and prior testimony as he probes discrepancies between what Andrea Constand has said in the past and what she said on the witness stand.

The biggest difference between the four other women accusing Cosby of rape and Constand is that Constand received $3.4 million in settlement money from Cosby. The first trial past year ended in a deadlocked jury. Two more were expected to testify later in the trial, in addition to Constand.

Laura Benshoff from member station WHYY is at the courthouse outside Philadelphia, and she joins us now. Before Constand took the witness stand, Cosby's publicist Andrew Wyatt informed the court that they will be tackling the inconsistencies in the accuser's statements. "And I just wanted to go home". "He said, 'I thought you had an orgasm.' I said I did not". Prominent men in the Hollywood, the media, politics and other walks of life have fallen in a wave of accusations about sexual harassment and assault. He was a trustee there.

In 1984, Thomas was a 24-year-old aspiring actress when her agent arranged for Cosby to give her acting tips at a session in Reno, Nevada. She appeared calm on the witness stand, smiling at times. She said she had not totally understood what had happened until she was driving home.

"I mentioned it to the gentlemen at the table and Cosby said, 'I have something for that.' And I was given a blue pill", Dickinson said. "They'll help you relax". She testified that he told her to come back to the house, and she agreed.

She passed out on a sofa.

"This case is about trust, " Steele told the jury. All of them testified they wound up unconscious from the pills or alcohol he gave them, unable to say no or resist as he had his way with them. What did the jury hear from them? And they either remember a sexual assault or they blacked out and later felt evidence of one and/or contact against their will.

"What did you think, when he reached over and touched your thigh?"
