After trading up in the second round, the Kansas City Chiefs selected defensive lineman Breeland Speaks with the 46th pick.

Defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi, who finished fourth on the team with 53 tackles in 2017, was selected early in the third Friday night by the Kansas City Chiefs.

They filled a big one with a 6-foot-3, 285-pound edge rusher. Speaks played across the defensive line at Ole Miss, and that versatility should come in handy as the Chiefs try to solve both of those issues.

The Callaway alum racked up 67 tackles in his junior season with the Rebels.

The trade gives the Chiefs the 46th pick and the 100th pick, and in exchange, the Bengals get the 54th pick and the 78th pick. He fills a need along the defensive line, where the Chiefs will have several players now ticketed to be free agents next season. Cornerback remains a priority, but wide receiver, tight end and offensive line could also be in the mix.
