Coaches and staff at Holmdel High School had reported seeing human feces at the track on a daily basis.

Police hunting a suspect who relieved himself on school grounds "on a daily basis" in the U.S. state of New Jersey have arrested a top education official.

The superintendent of the Kenilworth School District in New Jersey was arrested after Holmdel High School staff called police.

He was arrested at 5:50 a.m. on Monday, according to NJ.com, and has been charged with lewdness, public urination/defecation and dumping of litter.

It's not clear why Tramaglini allegedly committed the crimes, but it mirrors an infamous story out of Colorado Springs, where a female jogger was caught on camera defecating on her runs. Why would a person making almost $150,000 a year risk it all by pooping in public? Holmdel High School in Holmdel, N.J., has been the target of a mystery pooper.

Vito Gagliardi, a lawyer for the school board, told APP.com that Mr Tramaglini has been "highly regarded" during his three years as head of the local schools. The statement said that faculty could only be placed on leave without pay for an indictment or tenure charges; the alleged public pooping didn't fall under either of those categories. Turns out, Tramaglini is the superintendent of the Kenilworth School District, about 30 minutes away.
