Texas missing woman

The mystery woman who was seen in a viral video, wearing hand restraints and no trousers while ringing doorbells in a South Texas neighborhood, has been identified by police.

They found a 49-year-old man dead inside a home in the 18400 block of Sunrise Pines Drive on Tuesday morning.

The mystery of a woman whose ghostly image was caught on a haunting surveillance video as she rang a doorbell with restraints dangling from her hands has been solved. However, police are not identifying the woman, saying she is the victim of domestic violence.

He told a news conference that the boyfriend had called police and made "suicidal comments". They found the man dead inside his home from a single gunshot wound, and reportedly found a suicide note nearby.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, a resident of Sunrise Ranch in Montgomery, Texas was awakened on August 24 at 3:20 a.m. local time by their doorbell.

The sheriff's office says it has received numerous reports that the woman is a missing person. They did not confirm why she was ringing the doorbells. The woman disappeared before the homeowner arrived at the door. Authorities say the woman not reported missing at any point and is from the Dallas area.

She was not at the home when police responded to her boyfriend's home, Spencer said.

"The female is confirmed to be safe and with family. We only have one side of the story right now", Lt. Spencer said. "The investigation will continue".

An area resident, who did not want to be identified, told KPRC-TV the woman also rang the doorball at her home. The fact that she hasn't turned herself in at all, and that police feel it's enough to launch an investigation, seems to imply the Sheriff's office believes this woman is in some kind of danger.

The deceased's girlfriend a 32 year old white female, who was not on scene when deputies arrived, is confirmed to be the female in the doorbell ring video.
