The game, which saw the Super Bowl champ Philadelphia Eagle beat their NFC rival Atlanta Falcons 18-12, drew a 32.9 overnight rating in the City of Brotherly Love. The Falcons also hoped to get Julio Jones involved in play as much as possible and it worked between the sticks but when he was targeted just three times in the end zone, Ryan and Jones could not connect.

The good news is that it looks like the 45-minute delay will be the only one we see on Thursday. The Eagles gained 15 yards on a third down in Falcons territory, and Jay Ajayi scored with a short touchdown run. Atlanta outgained Philadelphia 113-0 in the first quarter but only managed to take a 3-0 lead despite two trips deep into the red zone, the first ending when Devonta Freeman was thrown for a 1-yard loss on fourth-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

Foles said they had run that play only once in practice. If Matt Ryan could actually complete a touchdown pass in the red zone, Johnson probably would've been singing a different tune.

After the game, Pederson shared name the name of the play that is sure to sit well with Eagles fans. But Rasul Douglas intercepted Ryan's pass at the 4. Sarkisian was heavily criticized past year for not having Jones, a two-time All-Pro, dialed in more often as Ryan's No. 1 option inside the opponents' 20. Coach Dan Quinn said he Harris will be a game-time decision.

In his first season as the team's offensive coordinator in 2017, Steve Sarkisian directed Atlanta to a No. 8 ranking in total offense. They were doing it all night (Jones was targeted 19 times and had 10 catches for 169 yards).

Prior to kicking off the National Football League season, the Eagles celebrated the accomplishments of 2017 one last time.

The play was ruled incomplete, but the Falcons went ahead and challenged.
