Megyn Kelly Will Not Appear On 'Today&apos For the Rest of the Week Amid NBC Fallout

"Back when I was a kid, that was okay just as long as you were dressing as a character".

Another NBC source tells us it didn't help that Megyn's co-workers "hated" being on air with her.

Kelly came under fire after her October 23 broadcast, when she said during a roundtable discussion of Halloween costumes that it isn't "racist" for white people to darken their skin with makeup, as long as they're portraying an actual person or character.

The Daily Mail adds Kelly's team is already reaching out to other networks, in case a deal with NBC can't be worked out to both sides' satisfaction. Translation: the ratings were bad. Get rid of them!

"Executive producers are responsible for their talent", they continued.

She has a contract worth $69 million.

The talks about dropping Kelly's 9 a.m. show pre-dated this week's controversy about her offensive comments about blackface Halloween costumes. "And while I use that word lightly when describing Megyn, Jackie had zero control of her and enabled a culture of toxicity at the show". "Just a disaster", wrote Fox News commentator Harlan Z. Hill. At NBC she would need to be friendlier, peppier, warmer... "It was clear that it was not working and there is a lot of dysfunction". "Happy Friday", she said at the opening of the taped show on Thursday.

But when she insisted that she has "never been a PC kind of person", many felt that her apology was disingenuous and exposed her again as a phony.

Megyn Kelly's original comments about blackface which aired on the Tuesday edition of Megyn Kelly Today.

The stakes were very high for Megyn.

Al Roker, a "Today" host, also commented on the matter. From 10-11am, NBC would cut to "Kathie Lee And Hoda", an nearly entirely entertainment based fourth hour program.

They tied the knot on March 1, 2008, and today have three children together. But since those last two hours of programming were entertainment-based, they sold sponsorships all day long. There was plenty of hype around "Megyn Kelly Today" when it debuted in September 2017.

This isn't the first time people have been confused about the Megyn versus Megan thing. NBC lost a full hour of potential sales opportunities. Ratings of Kathie Lee & Hoda tanked right along with Megyn Kelly.

It's unimaginable. Where would they put her? "Her limited tenure here has been an embarrassing joke". It's unclear if NBC will pay it out. Whether she returns to the network that made her a star or finds a home elsewhere, NBC should cut their losses and let her go instead of bullying her on-camera and backstabbing her off-camera.

In moving to a big network, she said that a politics-free morning show was something she was "born to do".

"We're thrilled to have her", Guthrie continued.
