Rangers manager Steven Gerrard could not hide his displeasure with his side's result against Aberdeen, with the Glasgow club suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to the Dons in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Sunday. We limited Rangers to a few shots from outside the box.

"I haven't had it (that kind of setback) and we haven't had it as a group, the fans haven't had it". We got ourselves in front, somehow, I don't know how but when we did I expected us to go on from there. I picked the players, I picked the game plan, I signed a lot of the players.

"I thought our performance in general (against Aberdeen) was pretty strong but there wasn't enough quality in the final third and we got done by a classic sucker punch against the run of play".

"But my belief and confidence in the players hasn't changed because of the weekend".

Liverpool academy product, Jordan Rossiter, has had several frustrating injuries since joining Rangers back in 2016 but was named on the bench on Sunday.

"It's a warning", he said.
