Misfire’ MSNBC Airs Fake Graphic Showing Andrew Gillum Winning Florida Vote Screenshots MSNBC Arr BNN 6 Nov 2018

Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D.) conceded the Florida gubernatorial election Tuesday night, but his campaign is now rescinding that decision to allow more ballots to be counted.

"Mayor Gillum started his campaign for the people, and we are committed to ensuring every single vote in Florida is counted", Johanna Cervone, his communications director, said in a statement Thursday.

The campaign says it's monitoring the situation and preparing for a possible state-mandated recount. Since the senate race crosses the threshold of the machine recount option, the political environment pretty much requires Detzner to conduct one - and as long as he's doing those two races, he may as well machine-recount the gubernatorial race, too.

Should that count show DeSantis with a margin of less than 0.5 percentage points, triggering a recount, AP will retract its call for DeSantis. The losing candidate can refuse a recount, but Nicole "Nikki" Fried, the Democratic candidate for agriculture commissioner and Bill Nelson, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate don't plan to. The two-term governor's victory margin dropped from.27 percent on Wednesday to just 0.22 of 1 percent by Thursday afternoon, according to unofficial returns.

More than 8.2 million ballots were cast in Florida's election, according to the state Division of Elections web site.

Nelson pointed to an analysis in The New York Times which claims an estimated 113,000 ballots in Florida remain uncounted, mostly in Democratic strongholds of Broward and Miami-Dade counties in South Florida.

Now the vote margin is within striking distance of an automatic recount, and both parties are bracing for it.

In the Senate race, under votes are ballots in which optical-scanning machines counted a vote for a down-ballot race such as governor or attorney general but not for senator.

Thursday, Nov. 15: If a machine recount is ordered, the second round of unofficial returns is due from the counties at 3 p.m.

Provisional ballots are given to voters because their eligibility to vote is challenged for some reason - perhaps they have an address discrepancy, or they forgot their ID.

November 16 - Overseas and military mail-in ballots are counted.

Two days after the U.S. mid-term elections, Florida's senate race remains unresolved, along with several others across the country.

Broward officials, however, had not counted mail-ins, early-voting ballots, provisionals nor overseas ballots, according to the state elections site.

Update: Marco Rubio's steamed about how Broward and Palm Beach counties are handling their responsibilities.

"Voters in white working-class areas are becoming more conservative - and hard-line conservative - and more Republican-aligned", Isbell said".

The Scott campaign, which declared victory Tuesday night, called Nelson "sad" for not conceding the race. "Nelson is going to be declared the victor", Elias said.

Election officials in other Florida counties may have disclosed the identities of which voters cast provisional ballots, however.

"Let's be clear: When Elias says 'win, ' he means 'steal, ' " Scott's campaign said.

Nelson's elections lawyer, Marc Elias, a veteran of prominent recounts around the country, told reporters Thursday morning that he expects the gap to narrow and reach the manual-recount threshold.

If Ms Abrams tightens the margin and neither candidate gets 50% of the vote, Georgia law will require a runoff election in December.
